Hello my name is Emmette Driessen, and I am on a one year trip around the world with Molly Driessen (my mom) and Casey Driessen (dad). Since I do school with my mom and dad, my assignment is to make a blog post.

SO, I was in Ireland over a month, and today I will be telling you about my time there. To start off, I got there on October 30, and that day, after we left the airport we arrived at our first house. The lady who owned it was very nice. The house was cool because it had all types of animals like...donkeys, horses, goats, a cat, a dog named Mr.Darcy, ducks, chickens………..you get the point.

The next house was an AIRBNB that we rented for three weeks. My mom read reviews about the house and one of them said that the upstairs was very messy. And when I went up, it was messy, but it was also creepy. In one of the bedrooms, the bed was not made, there were popsicle wrappers on the floor, and three glasses of water. So, it creeped me out. After that, for about the whole time we were there i was scared of the upstairs.

A couple days after we arrived, my favorite cousin Ezra and aunt Melanie came all the way to Galway from the USA. I was so happy when they arrived because l only saw them twice every XMAS. Now l was going to see them for 2 weeks straight! Ezra is so much fun because he always has something funny to say or do.

Ezra’s and my mom surprised us by taking us to the arcade. They left us there with 20€ for playing games and 5€ for food. It was AWESOME. The only bad thing was that there was no food. The only restaurant was subway (yuck), and subway was getting remodeled. We had no cell service because the arcade’s wi-fi was horrible, so we could not call our moms. We ended up very hungry.

For this entire trip so far, we’ve had adopted pets. Basically, we met an animal at every house. In Galway for example, we met Squish. Squish was our adopted cat. we let her in because it was raining, and I felt sorry for her. I gave her a piece of smoked salmon...she loved it. A few days later, she came back and my dad was out at a gig. Since it was only my mom and me, my mom let Squish sleep in my bed. Then she just came back everyday.

I loved Galway and i can’t wait to see more of Ireland. It was an amazing experience.
